The primary design concept for Canal Heights 1 draws its inspiration from the natural flow of water and the elegance of a pearl. This is vividly represented through the use of organic lines and curves throughout the architecture, symbolizing the dynamic movement of water. To further complement this theme, circular and spherical forms are integrated into the design, echoing the shape and essence of a pearl.
The pavement layout is ingeniously crafted to mirror the fluid motion of water, featuring expansive, winding lines. This not only adds an artistic touch but also strategically highlights key areas such as the drop-off zone and the vehicular roundabout. The drop-off area, in particular, is accentuated through a distinctive pavement pattern and is demarcated with the use of loose, bulk materials that offer a tactile contrast.
In a creative approach to enhance the greenery at the ground level, traditional rigid planting beds have been replaced with an innovative solution. Pearl-shaped pots, resonant of the tower’s main design inspiration, are employed not only as a decorative element but also as a practical tool for directing pedestrian flow to and from the canal promenade. This not only maintains the aesthetic theme but also adds a functional aspect to the design, ensuring a harmonious blend of form and function.
