Landscape architect - Urban Planner

Karim Bacha is the founder of Scapeworks. His expertise lies in leading multidisciplinary teams in all aspects of the design process, beginning with the concept through to detailing, administrating contracts and managing projects. As a landscape architect and urban planner, his work essentially relies on his comprehensive understanding of the essential tools in the field, applied to both urban and rural contexts (such as spatial analysis and diagnostics). Through his current work, he is developing new comprehensive methodologies aiming at integrating landscape components within urban settings, all while promoting the sustainable growth of cities and towns and contributing to the progressive development of well-balanced and successful communities.

Karim is able to cover conceptual drawings, scenario planning as well as technical drawings such as master plans and execution drawings. He has also showcased specific experience in detailed streetscape planning and design.

Throughout his career, Karim seized opportunities to participate to both public and private urban planning and landscape projects of different scales in France, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Qatar, Kuwait and Lebanon.

Karim is also involved in academics as he teaches graphics and visual communication design at the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts (ALBA).
