Situated within the historical city of Byblos this residential garden is inspired by the vernacular Lebanese character and lifestyle of the local people. The proposal entails the creation of a minimalist open space that maximizes on function within a small 216 m² area. Apart from introducing a central water feature and strategic seating areas, the existing trees were preserved and the botanical composition was completed with ornamental climbers and ground covers. The entrance welcomes users through a trellis covered in lush climbers. In fact, the use of climbers around the entire periphery gives the garden a cooling and comforting sense of privacy while softening the geometric edges of the architecture.
