This retreat venue was commissioned in Dmit, a village of the Chouf Mountains only located thirty minutes away from Beirut. Envisioned as a quickly accessible escape for local citizens, the venue overlooks a series of mountains in a calm, residential area occasionally punctuated by villas. Conceived as a Bed and Breakfast articulated around small, modern living units integrated in a traditional Lebanese landscape, it provides the ideal setting for a peaceful retreat. The spatial circulation naturally converges to a swimming pool area which acts as a serene gathering space for the few, select residing guests. Other planned activities include a multifunctional sports court in nature, a hiking fruit picking trail as well as a tour of the tenants’ aquaponics culture.
