Located on the western side of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Madina region is the third largest by land mass and fifth largest by population in the country. Being a holy city, it has come to host millions of pilgrims, creating the need for a metro system which was designed to assimilate the high traffic. Our objectives were to complement the Metro-Al Madina with a set of linear parks inspired by the different neighborhoods along the city-long transport route. Designed within the existing infrastructural framework these spaces prove how viable urban parks can coexist and thrive in conjunction with public transport systems while also challenging the monotony of repetition that plagues such developments. The result is a green-link that connects both ends of the city and its distinct characters together.
