This city scale project covering the 227 km2 of Yerevan revises the streetscape strategy of the capital, in an attempt to review its current urban green resources and to increase green spaces per capita. This was done through expanding green corridors and developing the public parks network. In this framework, six pilot designs with different characters and typologies were proposed. Sustainability of the designs was considered for best practices in terms of ease of maintenance. Throughout the master plan development, we tried be consistent with the initial vision of Alexander Tamanyan who established the first master plan for Yerevan in 1924 and which adopted the concept of the Garden City to create a decentralized, but closely interrelated network of green urban areas.
