This winning entry was submitted in a competition articulated around the challenge of the revitalization of Tabarqa, an old Tunisian port town. The frame of intervention spreads on the urban fabric of the old city and is defined on its southern border by the naturally ascending terrain. Enriched by a series of cultural landmarks, the city in need of revival is strategically stitched back together through the setting up of a circuit starting from a neighboring abandoned railway and ending at its characteristic heart, the port. Focalized on four major axes, the proposed vertebration strategy inscribes itself in the reaffirmation of the city’s identity by shedding light on all its forgotten heritage areas.
