As a product of collaborative process of dialogue, analysis and understanding, data-driven parametric design and technical synthesis, our landscape vision for Nizwa and Sohar is that of an ecological city that holistically celebrates and embraces its Omani landscape heritage. The Nizwa’s landscape design strategy integrates dynamic green corridors into the city’s grid, introducing organic, nature-inspired patterns that enhance the urban experience. This approach facilitates smooth traffic flow and pedestrian-friendly spaces, with courtyards and sensory trails promoting social interaction and a deeper connection with nature.
The Landscape Master Plan for Nizwa focuses on environmental sustainability and ecological responsiveness, integrating the wadi’s natural features into the cityscape through riparian promenades and ‘oasis-like’ plazas. This design fosters community interaction near water and promotes water efficiency and low-maintenance urban areas, enhancing neighborhood character.
